Police investigate Agradaa over money doubling accusations

The Police say they have commenced an investigation into accusations of money doubling scam against fetish priestess turned Pastor Patricia Asiedua popularly known as Nana Agradaa by some members of the public.

This comes after videos emerged on social media of her victims wailing at the church premises at Weija in Accra after she allegedly swindled them.

Nana Agradaa is said to have earlier promised on TV to give away GH¢300,000 to her congregation with the guarantee of doubling any amount of money an individual offers her.

The news drew a large crowd to the church on Saturday to give various amounts of money with the hope of having it multiplied.

But Nana Agradaa after taking their monies, shut her church doors and absconded after delivering a sermon.

The Police in a statement Saturday night said: “The Police have commenced investigation into alleged money doubling scam allegedly perpetrated against some members of the Heaven Way Church in Weija, Accra, by the founder of the church Patricia Asiedua.

“The investigation was initiated following reports that have come to the attention of the Police on the matter”.

The statement added: “We would like to urge anyone with information that can assist the investigation to report to the Accra Regional Police Command at Accra Central close to the COCOBOD building. While investigation continues, we urge everyone, especially those who might have been affected to remain calm and not take the law into their own hands”.

Nana Agradaa before her ‘conversion’ was accused of promising her clients of money doubling.
