Police offer GHC10,000 bounty on Takoradi murder suspects

The Western Regional Security Council(Western REGSEC) is offering a reward of Ten Thousand Cedis(GHC10,000) for anyone who gives information leading to the arrest of suspects in the murder of Mr Charlse Kwakye on 12th April at Amanful a suburb of Takoradi.

The Regional Police Command is on a manhunt for some six armed men who attacked the victim and his wife Monica Nda with guns, robbed them of their valuables and bolted on board two unregistered motorbikes.

According to the police, a person with such credible information should report to the nearest Police Station or call the Western Regional Police Command on telephone numbers 0249983333, 0244591076 and 0245961522. The Head, Public Affairs Unit, Western Regional Police Command, DSP Olivia Adiku in a statement assured the public of utmost confidentiality.

It further assures the residents in the Secondi-Takoradi Metropolis and its environs that the security situation is calm and under control, adding that the REGSEC has put in place measures in place to maintain law and order.

Background

Suspected armed robbers Monday afternoon shot a man and his wife after they withdrew the money from a bank at Amanful in Takoradi.

The robbers were said to be on a motorbike trailing the couple from the bank and shot them twice before bolting with an undisclosed amount of money.

This is the third robbery attack to hit the Sekondi -Takoradi metropolis within the last four (4) days.

Most of the people who trooped to the crime scene were heard expressing fear over recent robbery attacks in the area.

According to reports, the victims were taken by one of the taxi drivers at the Anaji taxi station to the Takoradi hospital to receive treatment but the husband died from the gunshot wounds.
