With great pleasure, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) announces the creation of a new Management Committee for the Black Stars, the senior male national team.
Dr. Randy Abbey, a member of the GFA’s Executive Council, will serve as the chair of the Committee, which is responsible for managing the team’s administrative and logistical operations. Dr. Abbey will chair the Committee and oversee interactions with the government and other interested parties.
As Vice-Chairman, Stephen Appiah, a former Black Stars captain, will assist Dr. Abbey and concentrate on Player Relations.
Moses Armah, the president of Medeama Sporting Club, and Samuel Aboabire, the chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association and a member of the GFA Executive Council, are also on the committee. While making sure that the interests of sponsors, partners, and other collaborators are properly taken care of, Aboabire and Armah will share responsibility for operations and matchday activities. The member in charge of special duties is Richard Nsenkyire, president of FC Samartex 1996, the Ghana Premier League champions for 2023–2024.
The Management Committee’s responsibilities will include overseeing the team’s overall effective management, establishing its strategic plan and activities, acting as a liaison between the Technical Team and the GFA, making sure that the team has proper camping arrangements, offering logistical support, and visiting the team in camp on a regular basis. The Committee will create and oversee the team’s adherence to activity schedules for every game and competition after consulting with the head coach and technical staff.
The Committee will also be in charge of making sure the best travel arrangements are made, that team members behave in a way befitting Ghanaian ambassadors, and that the Ministry of Youth and Sports releases monies for team operations.
Additionally, in order to maintain a friendly relationship between the Committee, the Technical team, and the playing body, the Management Committee will make sure that the proper policies and procedures are established for the efficient management and assistance of the team’s officials and playing body.
In order to guarantee the successful and efficient fulfilment of all promises to Sponsors and Partners, as well as smooth communication regarding the team, the Committee will also work in tandem with the GFA’s Marketing and Communications Departments.
The GFA is certain that the new Management Committee will provide the knowledge and experience needed to help the Black Stars succeed.
“We are excited to announce the formation of this new Management Committee, which brings together a team of experienced and dedicated individuals who are passionate about Ghana football,” said Kurt E.S. Okraku, president of the Ghana “We are confident that they will work tirelessly to support the Black Stars and ensure their success.”
