The Ghana Private Road Transport Union(GPRTU) has announced a 19% increment in transport fares effective Saturday.
This follows a series of previous unsuccessful meetings between the Union and the government regarding the increment of fares.
The drivers had initially proposed a 40% increment attributing this to the latest hike in fuel prices.
But the fares will now go up by 19% after a final negotiation with the government.
