The Ghana Police Service, after several months of painstaking intelligence-led operations at the highest level, has made a major breakthrough in the investigations into multiple Bullion Van Robberies recorded in the Greater Accra area.
These are: • Kingsway, in February 2021. • Baatsona ( Spintex ), in March 2021 • Jamestown ( Adedemkpo ), in June 2021 • Attempted robbery at North Kaneshie ( Industrial Area ) in February 2022.
Preliminary investigations have established the involvement of two policemen among a number of other suspects.
According to a statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, Supt. Alexander Obeng, investigations are continuing and the Police Service expects to soon bring all culpable people to face justice.
“The public will be given further details as soon as it is possible to do so without compromising the ongoing investigation.
“We wish to assure the general public that the Ghana Police Service will continue to work hard to rid our country of criminal activities that disrupt the peace and stability of the nation. We, therefore, call on all to support us in this endeavour,” the statement concluded.
