“Napo Ladies” was established to spread the NPP’s platform for the 2024 election.

To spread the party’s election 2024 agenda to voters in remote communities, the NPP in the Bono Region’s Wenchi Constituency has launched a new women’s group called “Napo Ladies.”

That would boost the party’s political prospects and give the NPP a chance to win the polls on December 7 and fulfil its campaign slogan of “breaking the eight” in the presidential and parliamentary elections.

According to the group’s 400 members, Mrs. Cecelia Awerewaa, the spokesperson, they planned to step up NPP electioneering in an effort to increase the party’s margin of victory in both the presidential and parliamentary contests.

She stated that the group was made up of devoted NPP members who were determined to further the party’s agenda in the lead-up to the general election in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on the fringes of the Wenchi inauguration ceremony.

Despite the fact that the constituency remained the “biggest stronghold” of the party in the Bono Region, Mrs. Awerewaa noted that the group was disappointed and concerned that the NPP had lost the parliamentary seat in the Election 2024.
“We have therefore decided to unite as women who are loyal to the NPP, recognise and address the unique challenges that the party faced, and contribute to our loss in the 2020 parliamentary elections,” she said.

Another temporary executive member, Mrs. Pricilla Adinkrah, reaffirmed the group’s commitment to stepping up electioneering, reaching out to voters in remote areas, and spreading word of the NPP government’s accomplishments to the general public.

She stated that the administration of President Nana Akufo-Addo had done a commendable job, and that the party needed to make sure that these accomplishments were highlighted and exhibited in the constituency’s rural communities.

Furthermore, according to Mrs. Adinkrah, if people comprehended the party’s platform, they would be able to resist the constant disinformation efforts made by rival political parties, enable them to make wise choices, and support the party in the general election.

“Our plan is to visit every home and market in order to gather as many votes as possible for the party to win the parliamentary and presidential polls,” she declared.

Mr. Richard Kwadwo Adu, a former NPP youth organiser for the Wenchi parliamentary and group convener, saw the 2024 election as vital and emphasised the necessity for the party to continue being strong and well-prepared in order to reclaim the parliamentary seat and win the presidential election as well.

In order to enable the women to realise their goals for the party, he thus urged the party’s leadership to provide the group with the necessary financial and administrative backing.
Mr. Adu conveyed gratitude to several party members for their support of the group’s endeavours, especially to Mr. Edward Boateng, a former envoy, and Nana Akwasi Awuah, the Managing Director of Precious Minerals Marketing Company Ltd. (PMMC).
