The Bono Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) Kwame Baffoe alias Abronye has been granted bail in the sum of GHc100, 000 with two sureties.
This was after he pleaded not guilty to two charges of Publication of false news to cause fear and alarm and offensive conduct Conducive to the breach of peace.
The two sureties are to deposit their passports and valid ID to the registrar of the court.
The prosecution, the court said is to file disclosures and witness statements within two weeks.
The court presided over by Her Honour Adelaide Abui Keddy has adjourned the case to March 9, 2022, for Case Management Conference.
Ghana Police Service on Tuesday arrested Kwame Baffoe upon an invitation over false coup claims.
He had made claims that Ex-President John Mahama has planned to stage a coup.
Police say after preliminary investigations, they’ve established that the claims are untrue.
