The General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP), John Boadu has asked the anti-galamsey Military Taskforce not to have mercy on anyone they arrest engaging illegal mining (galamsey) in his name.
According to him, any such person must be arrested and his mining equipment destroyed by the task force.
His comment comes after an activist of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) accused him of engaging in galamsey just because one of his (Boadu) special assistants is alleged to be involved in the illegal act.
However speaking on Okay FM monitored by Naagyeifmonline.com, John Boadu vehemently denied the allegation saying he’s had nothing to do with mining his entire life.
“I say this emphatically, I urge the Military Taskforce not to spare anyone they arrest doing galamsey in my name. They should burn all the excavators and other mining equipment and arrest the person as well. They should no show anybody mercy. I’ve not even engaged in legal mining my whole life before let alone illegal mining (galamsey). I don’t have time for any galamsey activity if I should invest my money in such mining and as busy as I am I’m not able to monitor my employees are they not going to rip me off,” the NPP Scribe quizzed?
