The Electoral Commission will later this morning hold an urgent meeting with political parties and the Eminent Advisory Committee over the controversial decision to compile a new voters register.
The parties, as well as some Civil Society Organizations, have kicked against the decision citing cost and timing.
However, the EC’s Director of Electoral Services Dr. Serebuor Quaicoo tells Joy News that today’s meeting is to consult the political parties on the best approach to compile the new voters’ register.
“We are going to talk to them about the need for the new register. We have always been seeking their advice about how best to go about the new voters register.”
