The Electoral Commission(EC) has announced the suspension of the replacement of voter ID Cards in its District offices across the country.
This is to allow its staff focus on the forthcoming limited Voter registration exercise.
The temporary suspension is effective Friday, June 07, to Thursday June 27. Within the same period the Limited Registration exercise is scheduled to take place.
The Commission in a statement released last night and signed by the Chairperson, Jean Mensa said it wants to focus all its attention on the registration of new voters.
The replacement of the voter ID Cards is meant for registered voters who have lost their cards.
