Eight years of NPP corruption will end, and the NDC is deserving of its eighth place on the ballot.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC), the opposition party, is pleased that it will be listed eighth on the ballot in the 2024 presidential election.
The number, according to the party, represents a turning point for reform following eight years of alleged corruption and poor leadership under the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

After the voting on Friday, September 20, the NDC General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, told the media that the party’s stance meant it was time for the NDC to assume power and deal with the governance and economic problems that the NPP had caused.

“We came here asking for God’s perfect will to be done and we accept the number eight. After eight critical years of decay, after eight years of total lack of order, corruption and darkness that has engulfed this country, I think the eight is quite significant to tell the country that this is the moment to stop the decay after the eight years,” he said.

The general secretary of the NDC also expressed happiness that the people saw the NPP disregard the original balloting arrangement and do as they pleased.
Mr. Kwetey declared, “The country clearly will not tolerate those who are doing everything possible to do what is wrong and those who are acting morally for the benefit of Ghana.”
On the ballot paper, the NPP will be ranked first.

The NDC will come in at number eight.

This agreement was finalised at the EC’s Accra office during the voting process.
