Municipal Chief Executive for Ejura Sekyedumase municipality in the Ashanti Region, Hon Salisu Bamba has embarked on a tour of exam centres for the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination(BECE) to give a word of encouragement to the candidates.
A total of 2,435 candidates from nine schools in the area are writing the first external examination of their lives which will enable them have access to senior high school education.
In an interview with Kwabena Adjei Adom Arakwa newscaster at Naagyei Fm, Hon. Bamba explained that his visit was to advise and psyche the candidates up to be well composed for the examination.
“Over the years our candidates have performed well in the BECE and it is important that we encourage them to do more. And from our visit, it is very clear that the students have been encouraged and are poised to come up with flying colours at the end of the examination. The experienced teachers are also to be commended for preparing the students for the examination. Thanks also go to Nana Ejurahene who has a keen interest in education for equipping the candidates with tools to write the exams.”
