The Akufo-Addo led government is set to announce what it says are “far-reaching measures” aimed at providing relief amidst the current hardships in the country.
This move comes on the back of a four-day Cabinet retreat at Peduase in the Eastern Region on how best to mitigate the depreciation of the Cedi, ensuring expenditure discipline and providing relief in the face of the global fuel price hikes and inflation as well as ensuring that priority programmes mean to grow the economy are protected.
The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta is expected to give details of the decisions later this week after meeting key social and economic stakeholders.
