Reggae-Dancehall artiste, AK Songstress, strongly believes showing her great talent will give her the needed attention and recognition rather than projecting her body.
According to the musician, though she loves to look sexy she’s never purposed to dress explicitly to make media headlines as that will not push her to the height she’s striving to reach in her musical career.
“If you know me you know that I love to look sexy, I love to look beautiful and I wear anything I like to wear. I don’t necessarily do it because I want to expose parts of my body, I dress according to the occasion and I perform in a certain way according to the song I’m performing. But when you study me, I project more of my talent than projecting my body for attention,” AK Songstress told Moses Aluebasi on Ejura-based Naagyei FM’s Drive show.
When asked who her competitor is she responded that she has none.
“I don’t see any other musician as my competitor and besides I don’t see myself competing with anybody. If you look at my style and brand I don’t sound like anybody and I don’t try to do things like anybody. I try to always challenge myself and be the best, I’m my own competitor,”
She asked the media to support and give more attention to female musicians just as they do for the male acts.
