The Police have denied reports circulating in the media claiming that the Chief who was arrested for allegedly killing a prospective student-nurse at Mankessim has died.
The police in a statement Saturday said “The report circulating in the media that the chief arrested in connection with the murder of a prospective student-nurse at Mankessim has died is false.
“We urge the Public to treat the report with the contempt that it deserves. The chief and his accomplice who were remanded into police custody by the court to reappear on October 4, 2022 are alive and in custody”.
Background
Reports say Nana Clark Onyaa and another suspect who is a Pastor had demanded Ghc15, 000 from the family of the 25-year-old lady’s family before she would be released after they kidnap her.
According to the police, after the lady’s family failed to pay the amount, the Chief and the Pastor allegedly killed the lady and then buried her in the chief’s kitchen.
However, the suspect Pastor was arrested after he confessed to committing the crime. He later led the police to the Chief’s house where he was also arrested.
