Mr Frank Appiah, the officer-in-charge of the General Ward of Sampa Government Hospital in the Jaman North District of the Bono region has revealed that there’s an increase in cases of typhoid fever being reported at the hospital as a result of poor hygienic condition.
In an interview on the “You and Your Health” program on Gye Nyame FM, Mr. Frank Appiah said the increase in cases is becoming alarming as about 5 cases are being recorded a day.
He said this approximately adds up to about 20 cases of typhoid fever recorded every month at the Sampa Government Hospital which he described as very unfortunate.
Mr Frank Appiah noted, the district over the years has been recording mostly cases of Malaria fever, Gastritis, typhoid fever and HIV/AIDS.
He advised Ghanaians and especially Jaman North residents to ensure proper hygienic conditions and environment to facilitate good health.
