NPP writes to Alan Kyerematen over Walk organized in his name

The National Steering Committee of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) has written to the Presidential Candidate hopeful of the party for 2024 election, Alan Kyerematen, over a  health walk organized in Kumasi by supporters on Sunday, August 15, 2022.

The party believes the walk violates the party’s code of conduct.

“Additionally, under the instruction of the National Steering Committee, Mr. Alan Kyerematen has been written to in respect of the “Aduro Wo So Health Walk” that was organized in his name,” the General Secretary of the party, Justin Frimpong Kodua stated in a statement dated August 17, 2022.

Other party members including the MP for Tafo, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, and Hopeson Adorye are to face the party’s Complaints Committee over related campaign activities which violate the party’s code of conduct.

“Subsequently, the attention of the National Steering Committee of the party was drawn to these instances during the Committee’s meeting on Monday, August 15, 2022. The Committee resolved that Hon. Ekow Vincent Assafuah and Mr. Hopeson Adorye be invited to appear before the National Complaints Committee as provided for in the party’s Code of Conduct,” the statement read in part.
