Mr Robert Joseph Mettle-Nunoo, one of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) representatives in the Electoral Commission’s (EC) ‘strong room’ during election 2020 has filed his witness statement backing the petition filed by ex-President John Mahama challenging the declaration of President Akufo-Addo as the winner of the presidential election.
He filed the witness statement Thursday (February 4, 2021) and is likely to be cross-examined by counsel for the First and second respondents, the Electoral Commission (EC) and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo respectively at the hearing of the petition at the Supreme Court on Friday, February 5, 2021.
He is the third witness to be called upon by lawyers for Mr Mahama, after NDC Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia and Dr. Kpessa Whyte have already taken their turns in the witness box.
