Eight people have been confirmed dead after a Benz Sprinter bus with registration number GT 5249-17 collided with tipper truck vehicle at Boankra in the Ejisu Constituency of the Ashanti Region.
The unfortunate incident occurred around 4:30am Friday on the Ejisu – Accra road.
According to eye witnesses, the accident was caused by a wrong overtaking by the Sprinter bus driver and in the process collided head-on with the Tipper truck.
Three persons died on the spot while 5 persons passed on later at the hospital.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at Juaben Government Hospital mortuary while the injured are receiving treatment.
