A/R: One dead, 6 cars burnt in massive gas explosion at Krofrom

One person is feared dead while 6 cars have been burnt beyond repairs in a massive gas explosion at Prime Gas filling station in Krofrom a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The explosion, according to an eye witness, Ohenenana Kwakye who spoke to Naagyeifmonline.com occurred on Tuesday when a staff of the gas filling station was working on a defect on the main cylinder.

The gas is said to have leaked from the cylinder and sparked fire to a nearby refuse dump, which spread further destroying other properties.

Personnel of the Ghana Fire Service have arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire with Police officers also on hand to maintain law and order.
