The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) will today Saturday December 29, 2018 hold an extra ordinary delegates congress in the Ayawaso West Wougon constituency to elect a Parliamentary Candidate for the upcoming by-elections.
Lydia Alhassan, a widow of the late Ayawaso West Wuogon MP, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko; Victoria Esinam Ansah Offei, an Assembly Member for Legon Electoral Area; Samuel Amankwah, a former Constituency Youth Organiser; Mame Yaa Aboagye, a Deputy Communications Director of the party and Ato Williams are vying for the position.
The Electoral Commission (EC) has slated 31st January 2019 for the by-election.
The seat became vacant after the incumbent MP Emmanuel Kyerementeng Agyarko passed away on November 22 after a short illness.
Kumbungu MP Ras Mubarak had appealed to his party, the NDC not to put up a candidate but the leadership appears to have shot down the suggestion.
