Ban on Funerals in Ashanti Region take effect today April 8 to pave way for the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the enstoolment of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The directive according to the Personal Assistant to Chief of Staff at Manhyia Palace Kwame Aboagye Mensah is in line with the customs and tradition of the Ashanti kingdom.
Rituals and customs will be performed today, Monday as part of activities marking the 20th anniversary of Asantehene.
The ban on the funerals in Ashanti Region will the lifted on April 29.
