Cover page gaffe: Ghana Beyond Aid C’tee demands apology from Designer

The Ghana Beyond Aid Committee is demanding answers from the Designer of the botched cover page of the charter.

This follows the wrongful splashing of Kenya’s skyline as cover page for the Ghana Beyond Aid Charter.

The committee in a statement signed by its Secretary, Dr. Eric Yeboah said the commissioned photograph on the cover page of the “Ghana Beyond Aid Strategy Document” outdoored by the President was an “error”

“The Committee apologises unreservedly to the President and the nation for this error and takes full responsibility for it.” said the statement.

The document put together by a committee headed by the Senior Minister showcased high rise buildings over a green landscape. One of the buildings in the image has however turned out to be the headquarters of Dawit Insurance in Nairobi.

The development has sparked public outrage. Kumbungu MP, Ras Mubarak has described the blunder as embarrassing to the nation.

The Ghana Beyond Aid Committee in a letter addressed to the Designer, Richard Bansah accused him of lack of professionalism and demanded an apology to the President for the embarrassment caused.

“You were commissioned to produce an original artwork that reflects the vision of the Ghana Beyond Aid and the highlights of the charter and strategy document. This artwork was used as the cover page of the document. You were required to produce an original piece of artwork, you, however, used a picture of Dawit insurance building in Nairobi, Kenya and presented it to the committee as though it was your original artwork. This singular work of indiscretion and lack of professionalism has brought embarrassment to the President, the Ghana Beyond Aid Committee and its Chairman.

“You are therefore required to provide an explanation and a formal apology to the Ghana Beyond Aid Committee. This is an urgent matter and you’re required to treat it as such.” The letter read.
