A 32-year-old man has been shot dead in a robbery attack at a fuel station in Akyem Osiem in Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region, leaving another person with gunshot wounds.
The four-man armed robbery gang wielding three pump action guns and a knife, stormed attacked the Goodness Energy Filling station on Monday, April 5, 2021, at about 7:20pm and made away with an unspecified amount of money.
They fired indiscriminately resulting in the death of one Nuhu Yashawu, 32, who was escaping from the scene.
A 71-year-old man – Padmore Ofosu, was also hit at the back by a pellet and but has been treated and discharged from the hospital.
Police retrieved five (5) empty cartridges at the scene. No arrest has been made so far.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Hawa Memorial hospital Mortuary Osiem for autopsy whilst police begins investigations.
