Ejura MCE donates items to disabled

The Municipal Chief Executive of Ejura-Sekyedumase in the Ashanti Region, Hon Salisu Bamba has donated items to disable persons in the municipality.

The items include popcorn machines, barbering machine, local rice, oil, cylinders, Gari, chairs, sheep, goats among others.

Naagyei FM’s Newscaster Kwabena Adjei Adom Arakwa who covered the donation exercise reported that the MCE in his speech stated that the gesture is intended to support the disabled persons to earn a living and make them self sustaining.

“These items that have been given to you are to support you earn a living and not that we’re taking care of all your needs. We’re hopeful that if you take good care of these items, they’ll become a source of income to make you self sufficient. So I beg of you, don’t go and sell the items or mishandle them, because from time to time we’ll come and inspect how you’ve utilized them. We’re hopeful that not too long into the future every disabled person in Ejura will be resourced to enable them to take care of themselves.”

Hon. Salisu Bamba added that hopefully in March, another donation will be done.

The excited disabled beneficiaries who could not hide their joy after the presentation of the items expressed gratitude to the Akufo Addo led-government for the gesture done them and assured that they’ll put the items to good use.
