Ejura: Police arrest two for robbery and sale of narcotics

The police in Ejura in the Ashanti Region have arrested, Issah Mohammed Dankware aka (Baron) and Issah Mohammed aka (Makaveli) for robbery and supply of narcotic drugs at Ejura Zongo.

The police say they had information that Dankware, a butcher and a resident of Memeasem, Ejura who had been on police wanted list for robbery, causing harm and causing damage 25 was hiding at Low Cost, a suburb of Ejura, hence proceeded to the said place and arrested him.

Inquiries were then extended to his house where a search was conducted in his bedroom where five wrappers of whitish substances suspected to be cocaine were retrieved under his mattress.

The accused claimed ownership of it and alleged that it was salt and pepper. Exhibits were retained for evidential purposes to be sent to the police laboratory, Accra for an analytical test.

Issah Mohammed aka (Makaveli) on his part was arrested for offering narcotic drugs for sale. Police then proceeded to the lace to arrested him in the Possession of a Polythene bag containing 13 wrappers of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, a small quantity of a cash amount of GHC100 being proceeds obtained from the sale of the Indian hemp. Upong interrogation, he claimed ownership of the items and mentioned Dankware as source of supply.

After investigation both accused persons were charged with the offence and arraigned before court and remanded.
