The Headmistress of Archbishop Porter Girls’ Senior High School in Sekondi in the Western Region, Mrs Charlotte Aseidu Musa has assured parents and guardians that the case of food poisoning that hit the school yesterday, March, 28, is under control.
Speaking to GBC, Twin City Radio News in Sekondi, she said most of the students who were affected have been treated and discharged.
Over 60 students of Archbishop Porter Girls’ Senior High School are currently undergoing treatment at the Holy Child Hospital over food poisoning.
Radio Ghana News in Sekondi gathered that the case began last night when a cross-section of students started complaining of stomach pains while some had diarrhea.
The Headmistress of the school, Mrs Charlotte Musa confirmed the food poisoning incident to Empire News but again reiterated that the situation is under control.
Medical Superintendent for the hospital, Holy Child Hospital at Fijai, Sylvester Fameye who confirmed that it was a case of food poisoning added that the situation has overwhelmed the facility and that some logistics are being mobilized to move into the school to attend to more others.
