“If the burning of our machines will not stop, then we will embark on a big demonstration against government”, they announced at a press briefing which was held at Manso Nkwanta on Tuesday.
Per their latest petition, the leadership of the association called on President Akuffo-Addo to issue an order which will bar the military from setting their mining equipment on fire. thanks
Chairman for the association Daniel Kwaku Mensah a.k.a DKM made a defense at a press briefing that there is no provision under the law governing mining in Ghana that states that excavators or mining equipment owned by defaulters should be set ablaze.
On another note, he challenged goverment to come out and give clear explanation on the red zones and other areas.
DKM explained that not all members work within the red zone but they are always affected by operations of the military.
