The former Member of Parliament for Nkoranza north in the Bono East region cum former Deputy Defence Minister, Major Rtd Derick Yaw Oduro says Ghana is not in a state of insecurity despite the increasing cases of crime.
According to him, the claim that the country is not secure is an exaggeration by political opponents as that is not the situation on the ground.
Speaking on Nkoranza-based DERO FM’s morning show “Kokrokoo” following the killing of a policeman by armed robbers in a bullion van attack at James Town in Accra, Maj. Rtd Oduro stated that the security agencies are on top of the security situation in the country and that the public must not panic.
He noted not all criminal cases are caused by the high unemployment rate in the country and therefore urged the youth to engage in hard work especially farming in order to earn living.
