GHS to distribute vehicles to all districts across the country – Dep. D-G


In the coming days, the Ghana Health Service will be distributing Pick up vehicles to all the 260 metropolitans, Municipals and District Health Directorates across the country.

This was disclosed by the Deputy Director-General of Ghana Health Service,GHS, Dr. Anthony Adofo Ofosu at the maiden edition of the mid-year performance review meeting held by the Bono East Regional Health directorate

The vehicles, according to Dr. Ofosu, have already been procured with allocation of to all districts done except for seven districts in the Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions which he said will get their allocations soon .

” The pledge by the Ghana Health Service council to provide a brand new pick-up vehicles to all 260 Districts is almost fully redeemed; the one District, one pick-up agenda. As at today, Districts have been allocated their vehicles. The remaining seven Districts are in Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions and theirs will be allocated to them very soon so that we have accomplished the agenda of one District, one pick-up”, he said.

The mid-year performance review meeting held at the auditorium of the Brong Ahafo Catholic Co-Operative Society For Development, BACCSOD in Kintampo Wednesday, September 16, 2020, was the first of its kind to have happened since the creation of the Bono East Region.

It was meant to evaluate the performance of the GHS in the region against their set targets and map out strategies to address challenges militating against the achievement of the set targets.

The meeting brought together dignitaries such as the Bono East Regional Minister, Hon. Kofi Amoakohene, the Deputy Director General of GHS, Dr. Anthony Adofo Ofosu himself, the Bono East Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Fred Boateng and his Deputies, the MEC for kintampo North, Hon. Michael Sarkodie Boffoe, the Director of Kintampo college of Health, Dr. Kwabena Poku Adusei and District healthy Directors across the Bono East Region among others.
