The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) has served notice of an imminent power outage in the coming days following the collapse of 330kV Aboadze — Kumasi Transmission Line.
“At 15:40 GMT on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, a communication mast collapsed and fell on the 330kV Aboadze — Kumasi Transmission Line, resulting in the collapse of two adjacent towers. The incident happened near Bogoso in the Western Region,” a statement issued by GRIDCo explained.
This according to GRIDCo has affected the national power system and may result in some load shedding.
Meanwhile, GRIDCo said it’s working around the clock to replace the fallen towers within the shortest possible time.
“GRIDCo is committed to maintaining a stable network for reliable and efficient power delivery. We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” GRIDCo said
