Deputy Education Minister Yaw Adutwum has denied reports that he is returning from a trip abroad to help resolve the challenges that have afflicted the computerized Placement system.
According to the deputy minister, he has confidence in his boss and the team that is working to resolve the challenge.
“My attention has been drawn to a publication in several media outlets that I am away in the United States of America and that I am cutting my trip short to come solve the SHS placement crises. The said publication is fabricated and not coming from me.
I am currently in Oxford in the United Kingdom as the keynote speaker of UKFIET. I am done with my address and will be heading back to Accra. As the deputy Minister, I work under the direction of the Minister and I have every confidence in the team that is managing placement.
“There may have been challenges but these issues happen with technology and the team would resolve the issues.
“I am committed to helping my Minister to fulfill the mandate of President Akufo-Addo of ensuring free and accessible secondary education to every Ghanaian child,” he said in a statement.
