Ken Agyapong did not assault Policeman at Winneba – Afenyo Markin

The Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo Markin has dismissed claims by a police detective that the Assin Central MP, Ken Agyapong assaulted him when students of the University of Education, Winneba demonstrated last week.

The Police Administration has requested Parliament to release to assist the Police with investigations into a case of assault lodged against him by one Detective Seargent, George Ofori.

The Seargent claims Hon. Ken Agyapong attacked him, hitting him three times at his back.

But hon. Afenyo Markin who’s also the lawyer for Ken Agyapong told a media briefing the claim is false.

“I just want to put on record that in my presence there was no such assault on any police officer as it’s being alleged. It is unfortunate sometimes we crucify the truth and it hurts and I’m sure that my respected colleague from Assin Central felt so disappointed in the way the matter was carried. Be that as it may, I would want to urge the Police Administration to properly evaluate the fact as narrated to them.”
