Students of Asanteman Senior High School in the Ashanti Regional Capital Kumasi have been displaced after yesterday heavy downpour ripped off the roof of the female dormitory.
Thursday’s rainstorm affected several communities in the Ashanti region destroying homes and other properties running into several thousands of Ghana cedis.
The downpour has displaced about 400 students of Asanteman Senior Senior High school with students being forced to sleep in classrooms while others went to sleep with their friends outside of the school.
The situation has affected teaching and learning with the students appealing to authorities to come to their aid.

Fortunately, no casualties were recorded in the school when the incident occurred.
A billboard was said to have fallen on a car, trapping and injuring the driver in the process.
Efforts by first responders to rescue him were unsuccessful until personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service
