Winning award doesn’t make you a good musician – King Ayisoba

Talented artiste King Ayisoba has said the fact that some musicians receive awards does not necessarily make them good musicians.

According to him, he knows several musicians who won awards in the past but are now gone into oblivion in the music industry and are struggling to hold themselves together in life.

Speaking on the entertainment show on Ejura based Naagyei FM to host Moses Aluebasi, King Ayisoba stated that any musician who does music purposely to win awards will not go far with his or her music career.

“There are so many musician who are award winners but if you mention their names now, we can hardly remember them. whoever focuses on awards in doing his or her music will not turn out to be a very successful musician. I’ve never targeted awards in doing my music, my target is life and how songs impact on society.

“I want to encourage and advise the young musicians to work hard on their music and make sure they play sensible songs. They should learn how to play live performance and also learn how to play musical instruments. Write songs they will be proud of in their old age.”
