Photos: Mahama in court to solidarize with Ofosu Ampofo, Kwaku Boahen

Former president John Mahama has made his way to an Accra High Court to solidarize with National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo and Kwaku Boahen, a Deputy Communication Officer who have been charged with conspiracy to cause harm and assault against a public officer.

Mr Mahama is in court with other leading members of the party including General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia and the duo’s legal team.

Mr Ofosu Ampofo is in Court over the leaked tape involving him in which a voice that sounds similar to him told party communicators that “we’re going to take her [EC boss] to the cleaners.”

“As for the EC chair, we must wage a relentless war on this EC chair. Me, she doesn’t want to see my face,”Ofosu-Ampofo allegedly said at the meeting which took place after the Ayawaso by-election.

He’d also incited the party communicators to verbally attack the Peace Council chairman Professor Emmanuel Asante.

Although both men have denied the charges against them, the Police have insisted the comments made by Mr Ofosu Ampofo in a leaked audio tape have implications for national security.
