The two major political parties[NPP,NDC] will later today meet under the auspices of the National Peace Council to begin a dialogue that will lead to the total disbandment of political vigilante groups.
The meeting will have the Council table a number of proposals before the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress to work out modalities to break up their party militias.
Already, there are high expectations among Ghanaians ahead of the much-anticipated National Peace Council meeting between the two main political parties over the disbandment of political vigilantism in the country.
Meanwhile an NCCE report has reiterated the need to eliminate vigilante groups ahead of the 2020 general elections, outlining the dangers of Ghana’s democracy, if vigilante groups are not disbanded.
