Raided house in Cape Coast is mine; not for NAM 1’s mum – Agnes Moses

A former Marketing and Corporate Affairs Manager for Ghana Ports Authority-Takoradi branch, Madam Agnes Bernice Moses has slammed media reports linking a property in Cape Coast to Margaret Mensa, mother of beleaguered Menzgold owner Nana Appiah Mensah popularly known as NAM1.

Madam Agnes Bernice Moses explains that the said residential house adjacent the Capital Hill Hotel on the new Cape Coast Teaching Hospital road is her personal property built from her own sweat.

She explains that she only let a portion of the house specifically the basement out as she is mostly out of town due to her work.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Kasapa News‘ Central Regional Corespondent Kwaku Baah-Acheamfour after police raided the said house in search of NAM 1 with the house alleged to belonged to the Margaret Mensah mother of the Menzgold CEO, Madam Bernice Moses explained that but for the said raid on Sunday January 13, she wouldn’t have known that the tenant one Danquah-Smith indeed relates the Menzgold CEO.

She explained that she rented the building to Mr. Danquah-Smith for 2years and the tenancy expired last November and the tenant has since been moving out his things from the house.

“Their tenancy elapsed last November as I have informed them that I am virtually going on pension and so I would be relocating to stay in Cape Coast and so they are packing out only to receive a call from Danquah Smith that the police stormed the place yesterday for a search with the media taking it further that claiming the place belongs to Menzsgold owner’s mother which is false” she stated.

Madam Bernice Moses added that she has the relevant documents to prove that she owns the said property thereby urging the media to stop linking the property to Menzsgold family.

“Everybody in Cape Coast knows that I built that property from my 41 years sweat at Tarkoradi Port as public servant and I explained it to the police on phone yesterday when they stormed the place as Mr. Danquah Smith made me talk to them. I have only rented off the down floor and I stay on the top floor when I am in Cape Coast. It is my proper and not that of mother of Menzgold Boss. The media should stop peddling that falsehood as my property and integrity are at stake” she said.
