Reports of food shortage in SHSs not true – Education Ministry

The Education Ministry has dismissed reports claiming there is food shortage in certain Senior High schools, especially in the Volta region.

There have been reports on social media of food shortages in schools which could potentially result in the closure of schools.

However, Ministry in a statement stated that: ”checks reveal adequate supplies of food items have been made to the schools in question.”

The statement further noted that the Ministry however takes cognizance of recent disruptions within the food supply chain, but assured parents and guardians that they have been addressed.

It emphasized that “all Senior High schools in the country have received adequate supply of food items” entreating the public to disregard the media reports.”
