The Governing Council of the University of Education, Winneba will today Monday meet over the crises that led to the closure of the university.
The institution was shut down last week after a violent demonstration by students for the removal of the Vice Chancellor Rev. Prof. Afful Broni.
The Member of Parliament for Efuttu, Alexander Markin and the University Teachers Association of Ghana are spearheading the campaign for the removal of the Vice Chancellor following the dismissal of several lecturers and staff.
Students of the university who have been affected by the closure are anxious about their fate.
“We are expecting nothing but the best decision to come out of this meeting, we are just looking forward that this issue will be resolved and the students called back to campus to continue with academic work because students are losing a lot and we are hoping that this unfortunate situation will be resolved, “Clifford Agyeman Gyamfi PRO for the Students Representative Council of UEW, said in an interview.
