The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission(PURC) has approved an 8.1 % increment in water tariff effective July, 2019.
This follows similar review in the power sector as the PURC announced 11.1% increment in electricity tariffs last Friday.
Addressing a Press conference today, the Executive Secretary of the PURC, Maame Dufie Ofori highlighted the factors that necessitated the increment including the dollar to cedi rate.
” As mandated by law and in compliance with this tariff decision-making process, extensive stakeholder consultations were held to solicit views and gather inputs for the final determination of the tariffs,” she said.
