The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi has vowed to lead the party to wrestle the Ejura-Sekyedumase Parliamentary seat from the opposition NDC at all cost in the upcoming 2020 elections.
According to him, the NPP is bent on winning all the four seats currently occupied by the NDC in the Ashanti Region.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP), has outlined guidelines and modalities for the conduct of the Party’s parliamentary primaries in orphan constituencies ahead of the 2020 Parliamentary Elections.
The orphan constituencies consist of where the Party did not have sitting members of parliament, one of such is the Ejura-Sekyedumase.
Speaking to host Henry Lord on Ejura based Naagyei FM, Chairman Wontumi stated that he and other executive members are not leaving any stone unturned until they dethrone the NDC from the Ejura seat and three others.
“The NDC is just running their mouth that they will retain the seat come 2020 election, they should wait and see what will befall them at the end of the election. We are taking the Ejura seat at all cost and we’re serious about that.”
Chairman Wontumi added that the party in its wisdom has decided that one of the four candidates who expressed interest in contesting in the primary goes unopposed.
“If someone has to contest unopposed the person will. In any contest, the party looks at the dynamics involved before a decision is taken to ensure that the party wins the election. The interest of the party is supreme, whatever we have to do to ensure that the NPP wins 47 out of 47 seats in the Ashanti Region will be done,” He added.
