Ahmed murder: Speaker stops Police from arresting Ken Agyapong

The Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Oquaye has allegedly declined a request by the Police to pick up Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong in connection with the murder of Investigative Journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale.

According to Starr FM’s Parliamentary correspondent, Ibrahim Alhassan, the investigators are rather to go to Parliament on Thursday to interrogate the MP following their correspondence with the Speaker to have Agyapong interrogated.

Hussein-Suale who’s an associate of investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas was killed on Wednesday, January 16, by some unknown assailants on his way home.

He was shot three times, twice in the chest and another in the neck, dying instantly, according to the police.

The maverick MP and financier of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been blamed for the murder of Ahmed after he revealed his real identity by splashing his pictures on live TV.

But Mr. Agyapong has since dismissed allegations that he should be held responsible for the death of Ahmed.
