Ahmed’s killing: Fmr. NYEP Dep. Coordinator denies connection with death

Former Deputy National Coodinator of the National Youth and Employment Programme (NYEP), Alhassan Tapsoba has denied any connection with the death of investigative Journalist, Ahmed Hussein Suale after he was picked up by the BNI.

Ahmed Hussein was recently shot by unknown assailants on motorbike at Madina.

Mr Tapsoba was arrested in Kumasi and brought to Accra for interrogation this week in connection with the incident.

However his lawyer, Sampson Laadi Anyenini has said Mr Tapsoba claims he only called another member of the Tiger Eye PI team to express concern.

“A Tiger Eye PI team member who’s in Kumasi had made a complaint to the BNI that someone had called him with an unregistered or unknown line and had threatened him and they traced it to Alhassan Tapsoba arrested him and brought him to Accra.

“Well, I’ve been to the BNI and spoken to him. He said that he’s friends with that person, very good friends and when he heard about the Ahmed Suale issue he called his friend to say in twi “eii nea aba nie, endi3 wonso wh3 yie na wo ho hea y3n” to wit this is waht has happened, you to becareful your life is dear to us. But the BNI is saying it might be more than that  and the gentleman who made the complaint apparently didn’t know that they traced the number to him.” the lawyer said on Joy FM’s News File show Saturday.
