BoG to introduce upgraded banknotes in May

The Bank of Ghana has announced the introduction of upgraded banknotes with enhanced security features effective, Monday May 6 2019.

The Central Bank officials explain this measure is part of the evolving changes in the technological landscape.

A press release issued by the Central Bank a while ago, indicated that the upgraded banknotes also come with improved durability and machine readability.
