The Municipal Chief Executive and the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Ejura-Sekyedumase Hon Salisu Bamba, has cut sod to construct a mini sports stadium for the Municipality.
According to the MCE, the project is being constructed with funds from the $1million Per Constituency allocated by the government.
He stated that though the contractor will be asked to complete the project within the shortest possible time, the municipal assembly together with the traditional authorities have secured an alternative place for the youth to continue with the sporting activities while work on this project proceeds.
“While this project is ongoing, we can’t stop our sports brothers and sisters from engaging in their activities. Hence I have engaged our Chief and we’ve decided to find a place on the Nkoranza road for sporting activities. So we are going to take the measurements and use a grader to level the land so that our brothers and sisters can use it while we develop this one. In the end we’ll have two football parks in this town. It is our plan that this other park will be developed into a sporting arena.“ Hon Salisu Bamba stated.
He was confident that after the completion of the project, more footballers with great talents will be unearthed in Ejura and surrounding towns who will rise to be great players on the international scene to make Ejura and Ghana proud.
