The Ministry for the Interior has officially declared Friday, 19 April and Monday, 22 April 2019 as statutory public holidays.
This is to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday, respectively, a release signed by Mr Ambrose Dery said.
Many Christians around the World observe Good Friday on the Friday before Easter Sunday, commemorating Jesus Christ’s Passion, crucifixion and death which is extolled in the Christian Bible.
Easter Monday is also observed as a public holiday in many countries and included as part of the Easter festivities.
