The Brong Ahafo Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Thomas Adu Appiah has said he’s not interested in taking the Regional Minister position for the newly created Bono East Region.
According to Chairman
President Akufo Addo last week presented Constitutional Instruments (CIs) creating six new regions including the Bono East and Ahafo Regions that have been calved out of the Brong Ahafo Region.
Speaking to Host Henry Lord on Ejura based Naagyei FM, Chairman Thoma stated that he’ll work assiduously to ensure that the NPP’s electoral fortune in Bono East is hugely increased.
“Techiman South since the Fourth Republic we’ve won only twice and we’ve not done so well in Techiman North as well. So consistently, constituencies that pose a challenge to NPP is Nkoranza South. If you look at the far East areas like Atebubu-Amantin, Sene East and Sene West this is the first time we’ve won Atebubu-Amantin. I believe with the policies and programmes that
He added: “That is why some of us with our experience, exposure and knowing the dynamics in these areas is poised to go to the new Bono East Region to deliver victory for the NPP in the 2020 election.”
