President Akufo-Addo has broken his silence on the surge in kidnappings in the country, assuring that government is working to stamp out the menace.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who expressed grave concern over the recent kidnappings in the country, when members of the Ghana Anti Corruption Coalition paid a courtesy call on him at the Jubilee House described the phenomenon as alien.
“We are all concerned about this phenomenon of kidnappings which we’ve not known; our brothers and sisters in Nigeria have known that. We have not known it in this country and we need to do something about it to make sure it doesn’t become a feature of our society. I am very very determined on the issue and decisions are being taken as we speak that will be a clear manifestation of the determination I have to deal with this matter.” he stated.
The meeting between the President and the Coalition the first this year tackled recent developments in the country.
Key among them are sanitation, security, the report on the commission of the Ayawaso bye election, partisan election of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives, (MMDCEs’).
