Menzgold saga: PNC executive slams NDC,NPP partisan stance

The Brong Ahafo Regional Communications Director of the Peoples National Convention (PNC) Mr. Abdul Samad Nurideen has chided both the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) and the largest National Democratic Congress(NDC) for deepening the woes of Menzgold customers who have their monies locked up, with their unnecessary partisan comments on the issue.

According to him, the two leading parties are fixated on scoring cheap political points out of the matter, rather than sympathizing with the aggrieved customers and allowing institutions like the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Bank of Ghana to handle the issue.

Speaking to Akua Nyarko Abronoma on Dinpa News monitored by Naagyeifmonline.com, Mr. Nurideen said, NPP while in opposition campaigned on the collapse of DKM Diamond Microfinance which was based in the Brong Ahafo region for their political gains.

He said when the Bank of Ghana eventually stepped in to streamline the operations of DKM, the NPP rather fingered the NDC of being responsible for DKM’s collapse.

Mr. Nurideen noted with the collapse of Menzgold, the NDC now in opposition also had an opportunity to accuse President Akufo Addo led NPP administration of having a hand in troubled gold dealership firm’s crisis.

He expressed his disappointment in the NPP and NDC for such pettiness and condemned their partisan stance on such a matter of national interest.
